A tree trunk rises from the floor beside your reading chair, bark intact, rough and ridged, just as it grew in the forest. At the top, a wide polished mushroom cap spreads outward like a canopy. Warm golden light fans through hundreds of hand-carved gill lines under the cap, filling the corner of the room with soft amber glow. The light falls on the chair, the side table, and the book in your lap without reaching the ceiling or the far wall. A floor lamp that looks like it grew in place.
Bark-On Tree Trunk Stem
The stem is a full section of solid tree trunk with the bark left on. The bark surface holds the cracks, ridges, lichen marks, and weathered texture that formed over decades of outdoor growth. No sanding, no stripping. The bark is cleaned, treated to prevent insect activity and shedding, and sealed with a clear protective coat. The inner wood is visible only where the trunk meets the cap at the top and the root base at the bottom, showing the contrast between pale heartwood and dark outer bark. Each trunk is selected by hand for its diameter, straightness, and bark character.
Wide Cap with Gill Glow
The cap is a broad dome carved from solid wood, sanded smooth, and polished to a warm golden satin. The diameter is wide enough to function as a real light source for a seating area. Underneath, hundreds of tight gill lines are carved by hand from the center outward to the rim. The built-in LED strip sits at the junction of the cap and trunk, shining outward through the carved channels. The warm 2700K light fans through each carved ridge in a sunburst pattern, projecting thin golden lines onto the floor and furniture below. Dimmable from full reading brightness to a low ambient glow.
Natural Root Base
The base of the trunk flares where the root system once began, creating a wider, heavier footprint. The root flare is left in its natural shape with bark intact, providing stable, weighted support on the floor without a separate metal base or platform. A felt pad on the bottom protects hardwood and tile floors.
