Wild foraged Australian native davidson plums fermented in chardonnay vinegar, along with rose petals and wild lemon myrtle, creating a fruity and floral drink mixer.
A shrub, derived from the Arabic word sharāb, meaning 'to drink', is a concentrated syrup made from fruit, sugar and vinegar. Historically, it was a way to preserve fruit, but has persevered through the aged as a popular mixer, adding a tart, fruity flavour to beverages.
The Davidson Plum and Rose Petal shrub is best enjoyed with soda water and fresh mint to bring out all the notes. Adding gin will also bring out the botanicals of the rose and lemon myrtle.
